The youth intern placed at Better Process through the Northern Colorado Manufacturing Sector Partnership had a great learning and real world career experience. Out of twenty applicants, she was the top candidate for this internship position because of her positive attitude. This attitude showed in her work as she went above and beyond on the job. Throughout her internship, she worked on making a motorized robot based off of a popular video game character. At one point in the internship, she had to figure out the electrical component for the robot and, although she had minimal experience going into it, she took the initiative to learn so that she could get the job done. A lasting piece of advice that her boss had given her was that “in order to be a well rounded engineer, one needs experience and skill in mechanical, electrical and software engineering.” Overall, she exceeded expectations and she will be able to apply what she learned in her school robotics club.
